Dotty is a wonderful mother and the driving force behind the household. She's pretty much in charge at all times except when it comes to their children's issues and quirks that throw her plans off balance.



When Dotty was sixteen she made the big mistake of sleeping with a "bad-boy" from high school. The result of that night is her daughter, Chelsea. The father took off and left Dotty to raise her daughter as best as she could and at the time the only job around was at the Bowl-A-Rama in town. She continued her career for several years that included being swooned over by every league bowler that walked in the door. Several years later she gave into the constant badgering of Jimmy and soon fell in love.



Dotty knows Jimmy is not exactly the first choice of just about any other woman on the planet, but she realizes what a good, faithful, and loving man he is and will stick by him through better or worse, envelope knowing how dumb he can be at life most of the time.



Not long after Dotty and Jimmy got back together she went back to school, earned her degree in social services, and now works for the state.
